Singing Along

After having such a busy theatrical semester, I’m looking forward with a more managerial state of mind. Because of my position on the board of the Robinson Players, the student theater organization, right now I’m having lots of fun doing lots of casting.

This week, on Wednesday and Thursday, we held auditions for our annual Musical Revue. We hold auditions now, and people work through break and come back ready to perform right when second semester begins. It’s a great way to put up a production at the very beginning of the semester!

We chose 12 acts of the many that auditioned, based on their vocal talent, performance quality, and ideas for how to make their piece better. Right now, the show looks like so much fun. It will be an upbeat show, not too long, with a variety of songs and even some really dance-y dances!

Next up: Casting the (similarly annual) Vagina Monologues this Sunday, for the performances in February. After that: organizing the Colby/Bates/Bowdoing One Act Festival that Bates is hosting this year. This should be fun!
